Team coaching completes and expands on individual coaching by entering into the dynamic it creates.
By team, we mean a group of people gathered together :
- To achieve a certain number of professional objectives,
- To undertake collective operational processes related both to methods and procedures, or to rituals specific to the team’s culture,
- Due to a number of functional and/or operational ties with other corporate teams on other sites, at headquarters, etc.
Like individual coaching, team coaching has a start point and a finish point and is based on an objective, and criteria for achieving the objective. It is distinguished from individual coaching because a team has a specific and additional personality, with its own rituals, representations, limitations … and dysfunctions.
As practiced in EXCELIA, team coaching aims to increase collective performance by identifying (or establishing) value production processes specific to the team.
PREREQUISITES
An analysis of the leader’s and team’s requirements is crucial at the start of the mission.
The manner in which the coach is presented to the team, as well as the messages communicated on this occasion, are of significant importance to the mission’s success.
The coach must enter into a “moral contract” with all of the team to guarantee a balance and compliance with the operational rules and thereby avoid any misuse of the approach."
