Emotional Intelligence coaching focuses on various ways to handle our emotions.
Similar in its methods to individual coaching, emotional intelligence coaching provides more specific answers to issues relating to challenges such as interpersonal conflict, unjust situations, relational inhibitions and professional anxieties (stress, harassment, etc.) :
Our private ties with friends and family members are essential and even vital. Professional ties, for their part, are also fundamental. No social tie exists without a relational investment. We admit and observe that employees believe they are not attached to other colleagues or protect themselves from a potential relational attachment.
But beyond these precautions, ties, exchanges, communication and even discussions contain intrinsically emotional values.
Whether caused by circumstantial events resulting from change (a new professional objective, internal change, communicating before an audience, pressure from management, unachieved objectives …) or structural events relating to the culture of a company or the values of an individual, the impact is the same: professional and managerial ties are potential sources of suffering! Few people in the workplace are spared from disappointments, frustrations and anger!
Emotional intelligence coaching consists in an approach which studies our management of professional relations through our own emotions and those of our colleagues.
Our approach is based on a diagnostic method called “the emotional value chain” © EXCELIA.
Inspired by clinical research on emotional mechanisms, it defines the types of behavioral responses (symptoms) that underlie the fluidity and regulation of the emotional value chain or its interruption. It allows for the identifying of behaviors based on emotional reflexes acting as derivative systems, artificially adapted, costly in energy and attention and often the cause of stress and interpersonal conflicts.
Based on this methodology, the coaching leads to the understanding, then restoring, if necessary, of our own emotional value chain, the understanding of the value of the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of our behavior, the construction of new, alternative behaviors and the testing of their effectiveness. The results of “emotional intelligence coaching” include the renewed meaning of one’s professional project and renewed pleasure in work and communicating in the workplace.
